Virtual Fax Server: Overview and Interoperability

Virtual Fax Server Appliance
The Virtual Fax Server from Ingenium Software is a Virtual Server Appliance that includes Open Text Fax Server, RightFax Edition, in a virtual server environment running virtual fax drivers. Virtual Fax Server was created especially for organizations that understand the value of server virtualization and Fax Over IP (FoIP). Virtual Fax Server supports T.38 faxing over SIP and H.323 Voice Gateways. Virtual Fax Server is certified to support Cisco, Avaya and Alcatel Voice Gateways.



Cantata Tested Interoperability

The following IP PBXs and Gateways have been tested for Interoperability with the SR140 and TR1034.


VMware

  • SR140 SDK 5.1.3 or later. (TR1034 is not compatible with VMware at this time)
  • ESX Server version 3.0.1 or later within the 3.0.x product line
  • Using the following O/S:
    • Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 2
    • Windows 2003 Standard Edition, Service Pack 2
    • Windows 2000, Service Pack 4
    • Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2
  • The VMware virtual environment created for SR140 must meet SR140 minimum requirements as well as the minimum processor emulated by VMware which is the Xeon. Therefore, the minimum requirements of the virtual machine presented to SR140 are: Single Xeon - 2 GHz, 512 MB memory. This results in approximately 15% CPU utilization when running 120 simultaneous SR140 faxes.
